Here is a little bit of background about the team:
Peter Chadborn - Director & Adviser
Peter began his career in Financial Services in 1988 as an Area Representative with Refuge Assurance. This was referred to as ‘Home Service’ and the Area Rep traditionally collected policy premiums from clients in their home as well as servicing and advising products from the company’s range.

In 1998 Peter joined Barclays Financial Management to experience ‘Bank Assurance’. There he progressed from a branch-based retail adviser to advising High Net-Worth clients in conjunction with a Premier Bank Manager and then advising Corporate clients in conjunction with Business Bank Managers. It was here that he met Peter Wright, Penny Hurrell and Cheryl Bourne.
In 2002 Peter became Principal and co-founder of Chadborn Baker & Kearle. The IFA Company was founded to provide an environment for advisers who wanted to escape the restraints of large employers with their advisory limitations and product bias.
CBK Colchester was created in 2005 when the former company was re-structured to create 3 autonomous companies; CBK Colchester, CBK Nottingham and CBK Swansea. The idea was to adapt to a rapidly changing industry by giving autonomy to each office thus enabling each team to evolve in its own unique way under the CBK brand.
In 2010 Peter Chadborn and Peter Wright rebranded to Plan Money to reflect the company's modern approach to financial planning and its ability to adapt to changing consumer planning requirements.
Peter Wright - Director & Adviser
Peter started his Financial Services career in Banking in 1988 with Barclays where he progressed through various roles available within the bank. He excelled particularly as a lending specialist for 8 years covering both retail and corporate areas. The extensive knowledge gained of the banking and lending industry stood Peter in good stead when deciding to make the step to become an Independent Financial Adviser. More »
In 2003, Peter became a part owner of the Chadborn Baker & Kearle team and then an equal owner of CBK Colchester with Peter Chadborn.
In 2010 Peter Wright and Peter Chadborn rebranded to Plan Money to reflect the company's modern approach to financial planning and its ability to adapt to changing consumer planning requirements.
Penny Hurrell - Adviser
Penny began her career in Financial Services in 1987 with Barclays Bank. She progressed through the bank during her 14 years service as a back-office Clerk, Cashier, Personal Banker, Loan Specialist, and then finally Branch Manager. In 2001 Penny joined Barclays Financial Management as a branch-based Financial Adviser. During her time at Barclays she worked closely with her current Plan Money colleagues. More »
In 2004 Penny decided to widen her knowledge and experience and joined Peter Chadborn and Peter Wright as an Independent Financial Adviser at CBK.

Cheryl Bourne - Adviser Support
Cheryl’s career in Financial Services began in 1987 when she joined Barclays Bank. During her time at the bank she held various positions including Cashier, Administration, Loan Specialist, Personal Banking and Mortgage Adviser. During this time she also worked alongside her current Plan Money colleagues. More »
Cheryl left Barclays and joined CBK in 2006 to provide administration support to the advisers.
Cheryl is CeMAP qualified and currently studying towards CeFA.
